Entrepreneur's Forum

Every project bogs down at the same predictable points, but no one knows to avoid them.

That is, until now.
The secret: Everyone you work with has a "power zone" or "sweet spot" like a golf club or tennis racket. This is where that person does their best work and does it the fastest.

However, they're not all the same.
If you no longer want to feel like the deer frozen in the headlights when gridlock happens, come laugh and learn with innovation author and process guru, Allen Fahden. Then go home and change how you work forever.

You'll experience how to:
. Find a whotogoto for each next phase to keep your project from circling the drain
. Keep your conference table from draining the cash right out of your business
. How to triple individual and team performance, and then double your revenue.

Speaker
Allen Fahden is an international author, speaker, strategic consultant, and corporate trainer who shows companies how to get the right strengths in the right place to triple productivity In the publicity for his first book, Innovation On Demand, he appeared in People Magazine, ABC News, BBC TV, countless television and radio broadcasts, as well as syndicated and local print media across the U.S.

San Diego Software Industry Council - Managing Software Development Process

Weds, Oct 5th, 2005

Process and Innovation

In this session of the Software Management BIG we will discuss how to establish effective software development processes in small companies. We are going to focus on that awkward stage where raw talent and informal practices no longer suffice. There is often resistance to introducing a set process, but some process discipline will be required as architectures, tools, and team management grow in complexity. Key questions include how detailed a process description needs to be, and what kind of practices yield the right combination of discipline and agility.

San Diego Software Industry Council - Security Awareness, Training and Education

June 2nd, 2005

The National Institute of Standards and Technology states: "People, who are all fallible, are usually recognized as one of the weakest links in securing systems. The purpose of computer security awareness, training, and education is to enhance security by: improving awareness of the need to protect system resources; developing skills and knowledge so computer users can perform their jobs more securely; and building in-depth knowledge, as needed, to design, implement, or operate security programs for organizations and systems."

Our expert panel will discuss their experience with programs that address security awareness, training and education. They will provide insight into what works and what to avoid when developing programs, and how to make the programs both efficient and effective.

San Diego Oracle Users Group - OEM 10g with Grid Control

Thursday May 26th, 2005 - Click here for more information

As the number of databases and applications grows, often organizations are faced with looming increases in maintenance and resources costs. Effectively and efficiently managing an organization’s infrastructure is one of the key challenges many face. Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g with Oracle Grid Control provides a single, integrated interface for administering and monitoring applications and systems based on the Oracle technology stack. The new OEM 10g with Grid Control includes complete monitoring, performance management, distributed database and application server administration, enhanced diagnostics, automated tuning, and an architecture that allows administrators to manage from anywhere.

Shaun McLaurin will compare and contrast the approaches of 3rd party products with Oracle's more homogeneous approach. In addition, Shaun will discuss the different components of OEM 10 with Grid Control and how organizations can leverage those technologies to achieve definable success.
